Tribute Night
A tribute night in honour of the late Fr Michael Campbell will be held in Kilbrin Social Centre on Friday 16th December at 8pm.In the early years of his Ministry Fr Campbell was a curate in Meelin. All are welcome.
Meelin Remembrance Tree
Lighting of the Meelin Remembrance Tree will be held on Wednesday 7th December 2016 at 8.15pm after Mass and carol Service.If you would like your dearly departed remembered on this tree then lines can be bought at the local shops at a cost of €2 per ribbon with your loved ones name.

More Kickboxing Success
The Rebel Og Kickboxing Club of Meelin and Newmarket competed in the IKF Junior National Championships in Limerick Institute of Technology recently.The students who took part in thus discipline enjoyed great success and train several times a week in their ultra modern facility in Newmarket under the watchful eye of their coach Pa O Sullivan.The students that won medals are Sean O Sullivan Collins silver, Sharon O Sullivan Bronze, James Browne silver Noël Stack bronze Joe McAuliffe silver, Fionn McAuliffe Bronze with Jack Moynihan just missing out in fourth place.pictured above are club me
Mission Opening Ceremony
Sunday Evening October 2nd 2016 was the opening of our mission in Meelin which saw a parade from the square to the Church in a ceremony called " Celebrating Community ".Here we had various leaders of the voluntary organisation of the community parading in a show of unity headed by local pp Fr Stritch and the two Redemptorist Priests Fr Meskill and Fr Browne.The mission will run until Friday 7th October with the closing ceremony at 8.30.Pictured above is the opening of the mission with the parade to the Church
Dance Night
A dance night will commence in Meelin Hall at 8.30pm on Tuesday 11th October 2016. A few locals have been identified and are coming on board to demonstrate a few moves.Learn how to dance and get fit the fun way so come along and enjoy the Craic.No dancing experience necessary and there will be a small fee to cover costs. Joe Weathers Vintage Memorial Run.
Duhallow Vintage Club in association with Meelin Hall are holding a Vintage car and tractor run on Sunday 9th October 2016.The run is dedicated to the memory of Joe Weathers RIP, a Meelin native.Joe was a member and committee member of Duhallow Vintage Club up to his untimely passing this year.Cars and Tractors over 30 years only and registration is from 10.30am in th hall and run will leave at 12 noon.Fee is €20 and refreshments will be served
Rebel Og Kickboxing Club.
The Rebel Og Kickboxing club of Meelin and Newmarket took 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze in The All Style Martial Arts Competition in Tralee on Sunday 11th September 2016. The winners were Sharon O Sullivan Took Gold ,John Curtin Gold, James Browne Bronze ,Noël Stack Bronze, Janet Quinlivan Silver, Joe McAuliiffe Gold,Joe Hedley Gold ,Jack Moynihan Silver and Sean O Sullivan Collins who won Gold.All fought like warriors and dominated the competitions.
Meelin Golf Society
Regrettably the Meelin Golf Society Outing to Castleisland on next Saturday 10th September had to be cancelled due to lack of numbers willing to travel.It is hoped to refix it in the near future.
