Championship 2017

The draw for the 2017 IHC was held at the County Convention recently and in Round 1Meellin will play the winners of Kildorrery and Eire Og who meet in a preliminary round.Meelin lost to eventual winners Fr O Neills in the 2016 Championship who in turn beat Kildorrery in the replayed Final so this is a tough assignment for Meelin. With coach Ronan Dwane at the helm and hopefully an injury free squad Meelin will again be hopeful of a good run in this competition.Dates are not yet made for these fixtures .

Meelin bowed out of the Cork County Intermediate Hurling Championship at the quarter final stage in Mourneabbey this evening (17.9.2016 ) after being outplayed and outsmarted by a ruthlessly efficient Aghada side. After both sides traded points in an entertaining open quarter Where the sides were level at five points apiece Aghada struck for a goal through Pearse O Neill and tacked on three points in as many minutes. Now on the front foot Aghada dictated the play and two rather fortuitous goals sent them in at the break in an unassailable position and eleven points up on an out of touch Meel
